Trimming & Pruning of Trees & Shrubs
Great looking landscapes share one thing in common --- they are kept in "good trim". Whether this involves a formal or a natural look,.
Key Benefits of Pruning
- Nicely trimmed shrubs compliment you and your home
- Professional pruning helps protect your investment
- Frequent trimming extends the life of foundation plantings
The 'Bowl' or 'Moe' cut
This weeping mulberry was given a straight, even cut along the branch tips. It takes longer if the branches vary in length, but the look is much nicer.

When to prune?
Most of our trimming is performed from May 1 through July 31st; during or following the annual flush of growth. Severe cutting-back of shrubs is done early in the spring, and spring-flowering shrubs are pruned within one month after they bloom to preserve flowers for the next year. Even with regular pruning, foundation plantings have a "lifetime" of about 15 years.
