About Us

In the fall of 1998 Karralea at the age of 35 decided to take a gamble of her own and leave her job in the casino industry. She wanted to do something on her own and work outside so over the winter of 1998 The Groundskeepers Lawnshaping Company was borne and in the spring of 1999 along with two part time employees the journey began. Not only in 1999 did she start her own company her mother needed and received a liver transplant, she also meets Michael and gets married. What a busy year for her.

The “Nay Sayers” including Karralea’s ex-banker, suppliers and some competitors all dismissed her as foolish. Saying, she would never make it a year in a male dominated field; she was determined to prove them wrong.

In 2001 Karralea convinced her husband to leave his job and come to work for her at the Groundskeepers and a new company she was about to launch, Christmas Décor of NKY. From 2001 thru 2006 both companies grew at a very steady pace so much so that they out grew 3 buildings. In early 2007 she moved to a 9,500 sq.ft. warehouse where she is still today. Karralea has 6 full time and 2 part time employees plus 7 seasonal (Christmas time) employees. The shortest tenure is 4 years and the longest is 7 years. Everyone is thought of as family including the clients.

Karralea and everyone else here are committed to three things and they are: #1. The Customer, #2. The Customer and #3 The Customer; their needs and satisfaction are paramount. Both companies have over 300 clients with a 95% retention rate of 6 years or longer.
